Our winemakers craft Winery Exclusive wines to honor our winery heritage as well as to highlight our own viticultural explorations. Each of the wines in this collection are produced in limited quantities, showcasing a vineyard, varietal or growing region. Styled to be enjoyed upon release, these unique offerings may vary by vintage and reflect the quality, history and winemaking expertise that Beringer has been known for since 1876.
Stark aromas of grapefruit white flowers and tart melon leap out of the glass. Fresh tropical flavors linger with hints of mango, papaya and Granny Smith apples. Tartness remains strong even at second and third sip, and creates so much intrigue on the palate. The crisp austere finish brings a fabulous finale which coaxes you back for more.
2019 was a near perfect season, welcomed after several tense vintages. It began with abundant February rains followed by drying sun and weather allowing for even flowering and bud break. A slightly later start was followed by consistently ideal weather, with harvest beginning in mid-September and continuing for a month with passes through the vineyard until mid-October. Generally normal to heavier fruit with great flavor and complexity were the hallmark of the season.
Sauvignon Blanc from the Calistoga Ranch and Larson Ranch are kept separate prior to blending for 10 months after fermentation in 100% stainless steel to retain freshness and crisp acidity. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation.
Mark Beringer, great-great-grandson of Beringer Vineyards' founding brother Jacob Beringer, was immersed in wine from the moment he was born in the heart of the Napa Valley. As the direct descendant to Beringer's first winemaker and one of the most iconic family names in Napa Valley wine history, he knew from a young age that he would follow in the footsteps of his ancestors. As a young man he spent many hours working in his family's wine store in Saint Helena, expanding his knowledge of wine as well as gaining an appreciation for wines outside of the famous region he has always called home.
