The Cold Creek Ranch is tucked away in the coveted Sonoma Coast appellation where maritime influences produce Pinot Gris with luscious fruit flavors, naturally bright acidity and hints of minerality. The majority of the blend was fermented in small, stainless steel vats to preserve the pure character. the remaining portion was fermented in neutral oak barrels to add body and a creamy texture to the wine.
The Cold Creek Ranch Pinot Gris is straw colored with medium intensity, offering an array of aromas and flavors including Asian pear, papaya and mango, lemon curd, lime zest and peach cobbler. Evident notes of graham cracker crust join further aromas of nectarine and marmalade, with lovely mineral accents, leaving an unexpectedly complex finish with crisp acidity and a lively, clean finish.
A near perfect season, welcomed after several tense vintages, began with abundant February rains followed by drying sun and weather that allowed for even flowering and bud break. The slightly later start was followed by consistently ideal weather, with harvest later in September, resulting in fruit with great flavor and complexity.
The Cold Creek Ranch is tucked away in the southern-most portion of the coveted Sonoma Coast appellation. The ranch experiences maritime influences from both the San Pablo Bay and the Pacific Ocean, which provide cool breezes and morning fog. As a result, the Pinot Gris offers forward fruit flavors, lively acidity and hints of minerality.
