To craft our Reserve Chardonnay, we harvest fruit from such outstanding Sonoma County vineyards as Robert Young, Belle Terre, Durell and Cold Creek. Each vineyard lot remains separate as it is fermented in small French oak barrels and aged sur-lie for 17 months. We select individual barrels of the best lots for the final blend.
"The 2017 Chardonnay Reserve is an über-blend, consisting of the following vineyards: 66% Cold Creek, 17% Durell, 13% Belle Terre and 4% Gap's Crown. It has an electric nose of fresh grapefruit, yuzu and lime leaves with underlying suggestions of wet slate, peach blossoms, lightly browned toast and lemon butter. Medium-bodied, the palate has wonderful poise with fantastic intensity, featuring layer upon layer of citrus flavors, finishing on a persistent savory note. 501 cases were made.” - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, August 13th, 2020
”The 2017 Chardonnay Reserve is floral and lifted in style. Orchard fruit, mint, pineapple and a kiss of new French oak are all laced together in a very pretty, mid-weight Chardonnay.”
